Roxanne’s daughter, Kaitlyn, was stillborn in the 40th week of pregnancy in November 2018. Six months later, she experienced a miscarriage at 8 weeks. She subsequently went on to have her son toward the end of the first lockdown in the UK. Following her miscarriage, she was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and went through therapy for two years.
Roxanne is a trained befriender with SANDS, the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death charity in the UK. She has also launched a coaching business to support people going through huge life setbacks while also trying to keep their careers on track. We discuss the importance of having mental health support during these difficult times, and Roxanne shares the differences between therapy and coaching.
